Work Weekend @ Cavers Paradise

Hi everyone! 

As many of you are aware, we have a campout scheduled at Cavers Paradise on the weekend of May 14th - 16th, 2021. Cavers Paradise is a caver owned campground in the heart of TAG nestled on top of Sewanee Mountain. If you have not already, do not forget to register on the website to attend the campout.

To express our gratitude to Maureen for allowing us to use her property for the upcoming campout, we have scheduled a work weekend beforehand to clear more land for camping. This will also take place the same weekend as the Sewanee Mountain Grotto meeting so this will be the perfect time to meet other fellow cavers in the area.

The land we are clearing is a nice, flat, shaded area. We will be cutting down small trees and burning brush so come prepared with gloves, chainsaws, rakes, shovels, tarps, axes, hatchets, and anything else you think would be useful. Maureen does have some tools, but she requested that we bring chainsaws. Camping will be available Friday and Saturday night for volunteers. If you plan to just come along for the work day and not camp, make sure you bring drinks, snacks, and something for lunch as we will take a lunch break. There are several caves in the area if you are interested in caving after the event.
