Beginner Horizontal Trip to B R Cave

B R Cave

This cave is wet & horizontal.

DCG's very own Alex Lambie is leading this trip!

Details:

• Bluff River is on private land,
• Cavers have permission to go there, only from certain access points and outside of hunting season.
• We will rendezvous at 9:30 am Eastern time at the campout location. EASTERN TIME.The cave is an about a 45 min drive away.

What to expect:

• The temperature in the cave will be between 55 and 60 degrees.
• You're probably going to get wet. Probably feet and legs. Likely not swimming.

What to wear and bring:

• Try to wear fast drying clothes. Synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon work best.
• A helmet with mounted light and new/fresh batteries.
• • Helmets & lights are available for rent on our website 
• Bring 6 brand new AA batteries if you're using rental helmets & headlamp.
• Knee pads are always recommended,
• Elbow pads are optional,
• Gloves,
• Pants are recommended,
• An optional light, long-sleeved shirt to protect your arms is recommended.
• A light day pack with:
• • Snacks: protein bars pack well. Put snacks in Ziploc bags to protect from getting wet.
  • Water (32oz) recommended.
  • Extra batteries for each light source protected by a water-resistant container
• Good sturdy boots.
• A large plastic bag to put your dirty wet clothes and boots in.
• Clean Clothes for the ride home
