Huntsville Grotto Annual Float and Campout

The Huntsville Grotto will be hosting their fifth annual Grotto float trip and campout on the Paint Rock River over the weekend of May 16-18, 2025. As anyone who has paddled on this venture knows, it will be a lot of fun on a beautiful and scenic river. And we will have a great time camping and relaxing at Robby Chandler’s farm and airfield! 

We will be putting in at Paint Rock Canoe & Kayak on Saturday (May 17th), which is in Paint Rock, AL and take out at Robby Chandler’s farm (2655 New Hope-Cedar Point Road Woodville, AL), where we will be camping and partying both nights. 

Regarding the camping, it’s free and there are plenty of shady spots and a central fire area. Robby has planned a movie night, hayrides, and plane rides. There will also be porta-potties and potable water. Dogs are also welcome!  

On Saturday night (May 17th) we will have a group cookout with the Huntsville Grotto supplying burgers, dogs, and fixings, but we ask that everyone bring something to contribute to the table.
